IP cameras are relatively new and have rapidly grown in popularity becoming the new standard for HD surveillance camera systems. IP cameras differ from their analog counterparts in that they transmit their video feeds over Cat5 cable where analog is transmitted over RG59 coaxial.
These cameras produce a much higher resolution video feed ranging from 1.3 megapixels to 5 megapixels and are able to cover the same area where multiple analog cameras were once needed.
